Dyerbilt Construction could never be just another residential construction firm, even if it wanted to. Its standards are too high. The company, run by father-and-son team Terry and Troy Dyer, was launched in Durango 12 years ago with the creation of a single high-end spec home. The project's considerable luxury refinements and highly detailed finish work inadvertently pigeonholed Dyerbilt in the seven-figure luxury home market.
The firm has since gone on to develop an impeccable reputation as one of the areas premier luxury homebuilders. In addition to garnering the 2004 People's Choice award in the first La Plata County Parade of Homes, Dyerbilt is recognized as the Preferred Builder in Engineer Village at Durango Mountain Resort and the Glacier Club at Tamarron Resort. "We have a kind of old-school-meets-new-school approach. We each have our individual strengths, and they end up being very complimentary when it comes to the finished product," says Troy Dyer, the junior half of the team. Dyerbilt Construction's latest project is a $5.5 million recently completed spec home located at the Glacier Club. The 8,000-square-foot, four bedroom log home, which was completed in 13 months, features all the standard leading-edge amenities, including computerized home automation, security cameras, heated internal flooring combined with a balanced HVAC system for precise environmental control, a 750-bottle wine cellar, and a sports bar with four Samsung televisions, including one situated above the men's urinal. Dyerbilt is also building the Glacier Club's multifamily unit townhomes. The townhomes, expected to range between $1.1 million and $2.1 million, will be constructed to Green-built standards. The Dyer's make extensive use of the full range of Boise Cascade engineered wood products for numerous applications and prefer Kolbe windows and doors for homes in the region. |
